The table tennis community lost one of its finest members on June 13 with the passing of former SPTTC President Stan Carrington.

Stan will be greatly missed by those of us who were fortunate enough to know him

Stanley E. Carrington Sr.
Brentwood

Stanley E. Carrington Sr., 85, of Brentwood, died Friday, June 13, 2008.

He was born Sept. 24, 1922, and was a World War II veteran and a table tennis world champion.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Lois Jene (Owens) Carrington; five sons; a daughter; loving cousin Bonnie Campbell, and a host of other relatives.

He was known by many and loved by all. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, where a service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment in Jefferson Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 700, Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
